Do you wear jeans with your Blazer or are you more traditional?

Is there a crappy CD mix burn in the center console? Does it smell like 90s gm?

I like your pun, but I honestly believe the answer for this truck is Jorts.

Does it still have a functioning seat recline lever?

Do you like the 4.3 or do you love it?

How much does it squeak? The one my father bought squeaked and rattled off the showroom floor, but it was one of the last out the door at the Linden plant, and it was $10k off, so we weren’t too surprised or disappointed.

Let me answer for them. Of course. And yes, but with an added layer of stale farts.

Blending in with the poors for a bit while your Duesenberg is in the shop?

Is the interior blue or grey? Are the seats horrible or amazing?

How bad of a car is it?

Is it as mediocre as it looks?

Lexus and Alfa are both in the shop, this is what they had lying around.

A friend of a friend bought one new that had been sitting on the lot for a year in 2006, also for $10k off. The fuel pump died as he tried to drive it away.

I’m sure you’ll love it. It seems very you.

I’m not sure if I’ll be able to return it I love it so much.

You sure? That was taken a week ago and 1100 miles from its present location.

Yeah, my father’s was sitting for a while too. No problems with the fuel pump, but the 4 wheel drive system had lots of issues, all fixed under warranty. It was worth it for the discount, but it was a piece of junk.

That’s the only reason why he bought it. That and he was always a fan of the S10, so this was his last chance to get one. The 1998 Ford Ranger he sold before buying the Blazer was a vastly better built truck, even though it was 7 years old at that point.

Good, I always wanted to be miserable over long distances.

I meant that it squeaks a great deal, but fair enough.

Somehow, the one I bought with nearly 300k kms on it for $600 was the most reliable thing I’ve ever had. It had weird little issues, and a shocking amount of play in the front end, but never had a single major problem in the few years I had it

How many people are laughing when they see you driving it?

Some of my friends poked fun a bit. I have my car back now though so we’re all good.

My father also bought a used 2003 S10 some years later. It was built at the Louisiana plant which stayed open to the build the Colorado and Canyon. It rattled, but had no problems beyond a failure of the ABS module (which is supposedly common) and some emissions before we gave it a tune it, it was shockingly reliable for 75k miles (and we go it with 40k). They’re cheap abd reliable trucks in general, but I wouldn’t take one built at Linden towards the end of a run if it was free.
![]() 06/21/2017 at 18:33 |

How do you tell where they were built? I’d be curious to track down where my old one was from

One of the digits in the VIN code identified which plant it was produced at, though at this point I don’t remember what digit it was, or what number each plant was. The Blazer said it on the build sheet for sure though.
